The chart was set for Friday, 12 February, 2016, 21:36, Montreal, Quebec, 13 degrees Libra rising. The question was ” It would be good to move my other two boys from School X to School Y?”. This is what the client says: The travel to school X is 3h/day and makes both children tired; the new school is just 5 minutes away. The older child doesn’t have friends at his present school. I would move them only if this would be a better option, both for learning and for their enjoyment.
These are elementary schools, so are shown by the 3rd house. First, we can compare the condition of Jupiter, which as ruler of the 3rd house signifies the present school, and of Saturn, ruler of next sign around and hence significator of the new school). Saturn is peregrine, so its condition is not great – but it’s very much better than the condition of Jupiter, which is in its detriment.
This is sufficient for judgement, because we aren’t considering the quality of the school by any objective criteria (e.g. how many Nobel Prize-winners it has produced) but only with regard to the querent’s children.
As a secondary consideration we could also drop Lord 5, which signifies the children, just inside the 3rd house, and then just inside the next sign around (sign, not house). Lord 5 is Saturn, and so is much better off in next sign around (Capricorn) than just inside 3rd house. So it looks like it is better to move the children.
The client moved his children. The older one succeeded in making new friends and excelled in his studies. There was, of course, a period of adjustment as they got used to the new school, but once that had passed they were both happier for having made the change.
